WE LISTENED TO YOU……and we are improving patient care
We listened to you…and we are improving patient care
At Thomas Street Family Medical Clinic we carried out a patient survey (the Practice Accreditation and Improvement Survey) and asked for your honest opinions on the service we provide. We listened to your concerns and have taken the following actions in order to make improvements to patient care where you feel it would be most useful:
What you told us |
What we have done
|
Long Waiting Times
|
· More emergency appointments have been added for the day
· Our reception team will ask if you need a longer appointment please be honest · When more then one patient needs to be seen please inform reception so we can arrange another appointment. · We encourage patients to request a longer appointment if they require at all times. · |
Didn’t know about your After Hours Health Service
|
· Receptionists inform patients of after hours service when they call and need doctor to come to their home.
· Signs have been placed around the clinic and at the front and back door. · Notice on our website and Facebook page. · Magnets are available at the front desk, staff will be giving them out when patients ask. Patients can also access the magnets to take home. |
Would like Home visits by our Doctor | Due to only having four doctors at a very busy clinic the doctors do not do many home visits. If patient requests an urgent home visit by their regular doctor reception will message your usual doctor.
We may request someone to bring you down to the surgery if possible and doctor will see you on lunch break or before going home
We make every effort to help patients in need but unfortunately leaving the clinic to see a patient at home is not something our doctors have the capacity to do very often. This is why we have engaged the National Home Doctors service to be there after hours when we are not.
Regular home visits to the elderly are scheduled in prior to a doctors session.-
Please don’t hesitate to ask reception and we will always find a way to help out. |
